After leaving America to summer in Africa, I created this photo essay as my attempt to capture the heartbeat of Ghana in photos and prose. Familiar sights and sounds surrounded me as I traveled the trails of unfamiliar grounds. My mothers' cheeks, my fathers' chest, my aunts' hands, my uncles' march found me. And welcomed my return.
